I can’t remember when was the last time I went to the circus in Kuala Lumpur, but I was glad to see some excellent performances at the Great British Circus near Plaza Arkadia, Desa Park City. I was actually planning to take some photos so I was excited and booked the ticket online for VIP lane in advance, getting myself VIP lane 2.
Â
I do have a good view from my seating, but I still think the first lane has the best view of the entire circus performance if you want to take clearer photos and be near the subjects.
Â
I wanted to take some photos with my camera at the circus but I wasn’t so sure at first if I will be able to bring a digital camera to the show. So, I directly message and asked Great British Circus on
Facebook if I am allowed to bring a digital camera. The answer is yes, I am allowed to bring my digital camera to the show! I was so happy to hear this and quickly bought the VIP lane ticket.
It was an amazing 2 hours circus performance of aerial shows, aerobatics, BMX and bike stunts, and don’t forget about the clowns that keep you entertained as well.
Â
Most of the performances at Great British Circus were shot without any RAW files as I was only shooting in SOOC JPEG, so I am unable to edit any of the photos. But I still like the results of the circus photos I took because they look like a
movie scene shot on camera. These photos are taken with the
Nomadic Mood recipe for Fujifilm cameras. Although there is film grain added, I still love it. I was shooting with my Fujinon XF35mm F2 R WR, much better if I have a zoom lens.
Â
How I wish I could be on the first lane. I can say I am struggling with low-light photography during the aerial shows. I’ve set my camera settings to AF-C and manual mode but still get motion blur. Probably it’s my shutter speed need to go higher during the fast-paced scenes.
Â
Great British Circus is the best attraction for a family outing and worth spending quality time with your loved ones. If you haven’t been to the show before, I would recommend you experience it at least once. Worth it. I really enjoyed the show and these images are amazing in my opinion and I love it. Hopefully, I will be able to come back for the next Great British Circus in Malaysia, I mean in Kuala Lumpur. Looking forward to it.
